Short-Form Session Notes, Part 3
THE EISENKRONE ORIGINAL VIDEO ANIME EPISODE SIX
*Ryoko, Rei and Cecil are freed from the nets. Naimitsu and Yuri have a conversation off to the side. Cecil and Lloyd talk a bit.
*The mermaid trap is set in motion. Naimitsu carries Lloyd to an island, while Cecil climbs up on the cliffs with a trident.
*Lloyd dons his secret mermaid disguise made of seashells and seaweed that he prepared earlier. He swims super fast toward the shore, while the mermaid is hidden in her cave, just as he instructed in his letter to her. Lloyd fakes his own death with a bottle of pig blood, then moves towards Naimitsu, splashing to give Cecil a clear shot.
*Lloyd narrowly avoids getting completely tangled in Naimitsu’s nets, but is still attacked by a furious Cecil. At the last moment, Cecil recognizes Lloyd and twists the trident so that the impact isn’t lethal.
*Lloyd sinks to the bottom of the ocean, just as Cecil spots the real mermaid. Cecil stops Naimitsu from swimming after Lloyd. The mermaid rescues Lloyd from drowning.
*It is revealed that the mermaid is actually Lucille!
*Everyone is shocked. Akane, trying to protect Lloyd from the mermaid, fires a bolt of flame. Lloyd jumps in the way, tells everyone to be nice to Lucille, covers her up with his cloak, and falls unconscious.
*Cecil figures everything out. Cecil becomes Mr. Exposition and reveals that mermaids must be shapeshifting Storm Knights, much like werewolves or wereturtles, who can learn to control their animal instincts.
*Ryoko runs to fetch Mashiro for the bleeding Lloyd. Mashiro arrives, but fails to use her healing powers for some reason.
*Thelma shows up, explaining that she’s been training Lucille to not lose herself to instincts. Everyone returns to the mansion and holds vigil over the unconscious and badly injured Lloyd.
*Lloyd wakes up to the sound of Sister Barbara’s prayers. He explains his cunning plan to reveal that Lucille is a good person, even though she is a mermaid. Cecil gets upset and leaves because Lloyd didn’t trust him with the plan. Naimitsu gets upset and leaves because Lloyd placed Akane at risk. Akane gets upset and leaves because Lloyd was willing to risk his life for Lucille, but not for Akane when she got attacked by Sou. Rei gets upset and leaves because Lloyd protected another girl. Sister Barbara leaves to give Lloyd some space.
*Lucille thanks Lloyd and gives him a hug. Thelma thanks Lloyd (kind of) and gives him a day off work.
*Cecil comes back in, and speaks to Lloyd. They have a meaningful conversation about trust.
*Leon visits Lloyd, disguised as a beautiful woman. He explains that he is spying on the soldiers, and that they have started recruiting local youths for illegal army training. He is very worried and says that he will need an apprentice Mystery Musketeer to inspire hope in the people. He asks Lloyd if he would like to be this Mystery Musketeer, since he was such an inspiration the other night. Lloyd says yes.
*Cecil goes to see Drake Francis for more training. Lloyd reads adventure novels while he recovers from his wounds. Lloyd warns Cecil that Commander Hoffmeister is looking for him.
*Cecil is shipped out to a lonely island, where his badge is taken from him. This cuts him off completely from all other minds, to train him to understand silence. He’s left with nothing but his Fighting Trousers and a bag of food and water, and is supposed to stay in solitude for three days.
*One day later, Lloyd is awoken by horrible screams from the basement. It’s Mashiro. She has stuck her hand in an iron box and been horribly tortured as part of a test. Her entire arm is bleeding.
*Lloyd runs to fetch Sister Barbara. She is horrified at Thelma’s brutal training. Thelma says she must resort to super tough methods because Mashiro started the training so old. She says Mashiro has passed the test and taken control.
*Mashiro falls unconscious, whispering Cecil’s name, and is rushed to the infirmary.
*Lloyd is instructed to clean out the attic. In doing so, he discovers the Red Oni’s hideout among the old junk. He very carefully moves it to make sure nobody finds it, and leaves a friendly note.
*Lucille and Lloyd go for breakfast. They meet Colette, who is bothered by the heat in the kitchen. She goes to take a shower. Lucille fixes the air conditioning.
*Lloyd meets with Mr. Dirac, who has been visiting Thelma. He finds some old broken toys in the cleaned out attic junk that he decides to repair. Lloyd decides to come along to his shop.
*Cecil, on his island, can’t bear the silence any longer. He gets in touch with Kage and goes inside his mind, seeing the perfect clockwork there. He spots a golden door; Kage reveals it’s his link to Mashiro’s mind, that was established when he performed impromptu mind-surgery on her. Cecil hears Mashiro call out for him, but ignores it.
*Kage shows off a homeless man’s mind. He tells Cecil to practice mind-control on this drone that Kage has under his thumb. Cecil fails but gives Kage a good idea. The good idea is for the homeless man to punch a 12-year old bully really hard to stop him from bullying kids
*Cecil is shocked and appalled. He and Kage have a long philosophical conversation about the meaning of free will and empathy. Kage gets upset, decides to learn about empathy, and breaks into Mashiro’s mind to study the Angel.
*Cecil snaps out of his meditation. Realizing he must save Mashiro, he runs across the water displaying newfound abilities, until he loses speed and sinks, still far out at sea. In desperation, he sends out a telepathic signal to the fish.
*Lucille, who can communicate with fish, hears his distress signal. In mermaid form, she swims out into the ocean, saves Cecil from drowning, and carries him to the shore.
*Mr. Dirac is stopped by Kurt, Biggs and Wedge outside his shop. They want him to answer a few of the Commander’s questions. Lloyd says that Mr. Dirac must rest a bit first. Mr. Dirac and Lloyd go inside the shop to look at the dead Dirac Junior’s old musketeer equipment.
*Kurt bangs on the door hard, distracting Mr. Dirac. Dirac goes to answer it and is dragged out by the soldiers.
*Lloyd decides to go through with Leon’s plan, dons a musketeer uniform and a mask, and charges outside with Joseph Dirac’s sword. He fights Biggs and Wedge, while Monsieur LeFluff distracts Kurt so that Mr. Dirac can escape inside his shop, arm the traps, and lock the door.
*Lloyd carves a Z in Biggs’ underpants and makes cracks in Wedge’s shield. He says random stuff in Frankish, greatly inspiring the locals somehow. Then he mysteriously disappears.
*Kurt, angry, tells Biggs and Wedge to go look for Cecil. He then sets off to report to Commander Hoffmeister.
*Lloyd returns the uniform to Mr. Dirac, and they discuss cool gadgets that could be useful for a mysterious masked avenger.
*Cecil arrives at Mashiro’s sickbed, jumping in through the window. He hurriedly tries to banish Kage from her mind, but something goes wrong. The strange conjunction of powers combined with a crazy-powerful roll from Cecil causes him and Kage to switch bodies, leaving Cecil in Mashiro’s body and Kage in Cecil’s body, cut off from his own corporeal form in Durmstrang. The psitanium badges also, for unknown reasons, cause Ryoko and André to switch bodies with each other. Mashiro’s mind seems to be mysteriously missing.
*Kage and Cecil quickly work out a way to reverse the accidental mind-swap, but before they have a chance to implement it, Sister Barbara comes along. Kage sucks at manners and manages to upset her, meaning she drags Kage (in Cecil’s body) out of the room and away to church.
*Cecil (in Mashiro’s body) tries to escape through the window. He adds to Mashiro’s injuries in the process, but immediately meets Lloyd. They go to church, and meet a furious Sister Barbara. Kage tried to mind control her and take advantage of her, but he failed. She slapped him and he tried to escape, but Cecil’s massive jumping powers caught him by surprise and he flew all the way into town.
*Cecil tries to use telepathy to explain the situation to Lloyd, but only partially succeeds. Lloyd decides to go look for Cecil, as he’s not making much sense right now.
*Sister Barbara drags “Mashiro” back to the school, as she must train some more with Thelma. Cecil is forced to experience one of Mashiro’s painful and exhausting training sessions, this time punching a brazier full of hot coals.
*Lloyd finds the big search party slash mob, and uses them to locate “Cecil”. He finds him at the same time as Biggs and Wedge.
*Kage mind controls the mob, Biggs and Wedge to become perfectly silent, and makes them unable to approach him. He tells Lloyd that he is naïve and weak and that he will hurt people around him. Then he insults Mashiro, calling her stupid. Lloyd slaps “Cecil”, which infuriates Kage so much that he tries to take over Lloyd’s mind.
*Kage’s head is flooded with pain and empathy as his mind melds with Lloyd’s and he comes face to face with Inner Lloyd. He collapses on the floor in despair.
*Stunned by Lloyd’s capacity to feel, he surrenders and explains what happened, in simple enough terms that Lloyd understand. Lloyd quickly helps “Cecil” return to the boarding school.
*"Mashiro" and “Cecil” meet up, and reverse the mind-swap. Mashiro’s body collapses in unconsciousness, Kage’s mind returns to Durmstrang, and Cecil is back in his own body. He places the unconscious Mashiro in her sickbed, hoping that she’ll be okay despite all the trauma.
*Cecil and Lloyd hear Ryoko call for help. She’s stuck in the von Lothringen mansion with a goat. They quickly rush to rescue her.
*Ryoko is dressed in 3d-glasses, a witch hat, pantyhose, a jingling metal top, mismatching shoes, a bathrobe, and other oddities. André has apparently decided to “improve” her wardrobe. She wonders what the hell happened. Cecil explains. Ryoko hints that she has found out about TRIBUTEWEAPON during her time in Andrés body.
*Cecil goes to talk some to Drake Francis, on his boat. Drake finds out about Kage. Drake says that this complicates the training, but that if Cecil can just think of people as people and not as pirates or teachers or other labels, he’ll learn a lot. Cecil understands.
*Lloyd heads into town in search of Ryoko’s original clothes. André has swapped them for various interesting garments around town, but the mute mob (now including Biggs and Wedge) helps him search. They find (most of) Ryoko’s stuff shortly.
